Holiday Happenings with Paper Issues: Shine (PhotoPlay Paper Happy Hanukkah Mini Kit)

Hi everyone! Can you believe we've reached the last issue of the year at Paper Issues? It's called Holiday Happenings. I used PhotoPlay Paper's Happy Hanukkah Mini Kit to create my page. I paired it with a special edition Hanukkah embellishment kit from Pinkfresh Studio and the dreidel from the 8 Crazy Nights PaperPOP set from the Paper Issues store.

Here's what the issue is all about:
  • Show us pages about the December holidays you celebrate, including your decor (lights, tree, menorah, etc.)
  • Tell us about your favorite holiday gift (either one you received or one you gave).
  • What's on your holiday menu? Do you decorate cookies, make gingerbread houses? Do you have a dish you're known for and your family can't live without?
  • What types of winter activities do you enjoy?
Add your paper projects to the Current Issue album in the Paper Issues {Friends & Fans} group by December 31st for a chance to win a gift certificate to the Paper Issues store. Easy, right?

Happy holidays!

Try it Tuesday with Paper Issues: You're All Write (Pebbles Forever My Always)

This month's Try it Tuesday challenge at Paper Issues is called Paper Strips Sorted.

It's time to use up your scrappy paper strips, whether they're scraps left over from another project or the decorative manufacturer's trim from the bottom of a piece of paper.

Suggested ideas include creating a shape like a star, heart or snowflake; die cutting a shape from strips that have been stitched together; paper piecing a cut file or creating a border (as I did), etc. Get creative and have fun!

I cut the paper strip off of the bottom of my background paper (just happened to be decorative), used it as a border and added a bit of machine stitching.

You can play along too! Add your project to the Try it Tuesday album in the Paper Issues {Friends & Fans} group by December 31st for a chance to win a gift certificate to the Paper Issues store.

Pinspire Me with Paper Issues: Snow Mountain (Crate Paper Snow and Cocoa)

It's time for the December Pinspire Me challenge at Paper Issues. I used Crate Paper's Snow and Cocoa collection to create my card. Although this collection is from last year, it was so popular it was released again this year with additional embellishments.

Here's a look at this month's beautiful mood board. I was inspired by the non-traditional holiday colors.

Create something based on this piece and post it in the Pinspire Me album in the Paper Issues {Friends & Fans} Facebook group by December 31st for a chance to win a gift certificate to the Paper Issues store. If you share your project on Instagram, be sure to use #paperissuespinspireme so we can leave you some love. :)

It's time for December's Scrap Soup challenge at Paper Issues. This is such a fun challenge! You can play along too for a chance to win a gift certificate to the
Paper Issues store.

How does this challenge work? Each month there's a list of items to use as the base of your soup (project). You're welcome to add in anything else you'd like (including more of what's listed), but you have to have at least the minimum ingredients in the recipe.

Take 5 with Paper Issues: Winter Season (Crate Paper Snow and Cocoa)

Every month I love playing along with the Take 5 challenge at Paper Issues. It's fun, easy and there are so many ways to interpret it. You can play along too for a chance to win a gift certificate to the
Paper Issues store.

I put this fun and colorful holiday card together with the Snow and Cocoa collection from Crate Paper. Did you know they re-released this collection this year to include additional embellishments? You'll find the collection right here.

So how does the Take 5 challenge work? Pick 5 items from the chart below and create a paper project (card, layout, off the page, pocket page, etc.) You can add other items, but you must use at least 5 items from the list.

Link your finished project to the Take 5 Challenge album in the Paper Issues {Friends & Fans} Facebook group by December 31st.

In case you're wondering, I used eight this month: #1 silver, #2 gold, #3 white, #4 snowflake, #7 patterned paper, #11 layers, #12 sticker, #15 "winter".

Sketchy Saturday with Paper Issues: Finding Balance (Cocoa Vanilla Bohemian Dreams)

I love the sketch Ann designed for this month's challenge at Paper Issues. It was perfect for documenting my love of yoga. The journaling is about how I try to find balance in my life. Balance also happens to be the name of the studio where I practice. :)

I rotated the sketch 90° to the right, using Cocoa Vanilla Bohemian Dream, odds and ends from my stash, and pieces of flair from Feed Your Craft.

Here's a look at the sketch:

I hope all of you sketch lovers out there will play along! Add your finished project to the Sketchy Saturday album in the Paper Issues {Friends & Fans} Facebook group by December 31st for a chance to win a gift certificate to the Paper Issues store.
