Card Share: On My Mind (Echo Park Teacher's Pet)

One last teacher appreciation card to share with you this week.

This card is for Alexa's Global History teacher. I used some of the same bookshelf paper as I did on yesterday's card, making sure to highlight the world globe on the top shelf.

Next week I'll have a few more cards to share, based on a number of different challenges I participated in. See you then!

Card Share: Inspired (Echo Park Teacher's Pet)

I thought I'd continue to share teacher appreciation cards this week.

As I mentioned yesterday, I'm trying to tailor each card toward each teacher's area of expertise. This card is for Alexa's English teacher, hence the bookshelf paper. Her teacher is a lot of fun and Alexa loves her so much. I hope she enjoys this "customized" card. :)

Card Share: Oh Happy Day

With Teacher Appreciation Week coming up, I thought it was time to start working on cards for Alexa's teachers.

I'm trying to gear each card toward the teacher's area of expertise. I had a tiny bit of Echo Park's Teacher's Pet equation paper left so I used a piece on this card for her physics teacher and the remainder on a card for her geometry teacher (which I'll share at a later date). Of course I had to work a light bulb into the design too. :)

What do you do for Teacher Appreciation Week?

Card Share: I Heart My Cat (Bella Blvd. Riley)

Pet sympathy cards continue to sell well in my Etsy shop. On the one hand, they're really sad to make, but on the other it's a good feeling to know the cards are chosen to bring comfort to the recipient.

Have a great day!

Card Share: Party (Simple Stories Let's Party)

It's time for a birthday celebration, so let's party! I'll bring the cake, ice cream, confetti and a balloon bouquet.

Simple Stories' Let's Party made this card a breeze to put together using two patterned papers, a die cut and stickers. I added in enamel dots for a bit of dimension. I mean, what's a project without enamel dots, right? :)

I know not everyone enjoys cake, so what's your favorite birthday treat? Cupcakes? Fruit tart? Something else?

Card Share: Everyday Mom (Simple Stories Life in Color)

With Mother's Day just around the corner (is it early this year?), I thought I'd share one last Mother's Day card with you. I made this with Simple Stories Life in Color. I had a scrap of a Bella Blvd. white polka dot transparency in my stash, so I topped the patterned papers with it. I really like the look and how it adds another subtle pattern to the card.

How are you doing with your Mother's Day preparations? Do you make cards to give to the moms in your life (or someone who's just like a mom)?

Product Spotlight with Paper Issues: Thomas High School Life (Simple Stories Life in Color)

Paper Issues is shining the spotlight on Simple Stories Life in Color collection today. I love how it worked with Alexa's school photo. I personalized the page a bit with custom school year flair from Feed Your Craft and a beautiful acrylic piece from Color Cast Designs ("9th grade").

Check out the Paper Issues blog today to see more of this collection (and Carpe Diem) in action. I promise you'll find plenty of inspiring projects from the team.

Card Share: Celebrate, Birthday Boy (Simple Stories Let's Party)

Turning three is a great age to be so let's celebrate with a boy's birthday card today!

I've used the die cut numbers from Simple Stories' Let's Party collection on a number of birthday cards. They're a great size to work with and they make the card more personalized.

Here's a look at the Pocket Pieces — they come in a package of twenty (they even fit 3x4 pockets). They're a whole lot of fun and remind me of the numbered birthday candles you top a birthday cake with.

If you've had your eye on this collection, be sure to check the Paper Issues store for this and other new Simple Stories collections (as well as other new additions). You can save 20% with the code LISA20.

What do you do to celebrate Mother's Day?

Take 5 with Paper Issues: It's Your Special Day (Simple Stories Let's Party)

It's time for another Take 5 challenge at Paper Issues. Here's how it works...each month there's a list of items to use as inspiration. Pick 5 of the items from the list and create a paper crafting project of any kind (card, layout, off the page, pocket page, etc.) You can add in other items and use your own ideas, but you must use at least 5 items from the list.

Here's the list for April:

1. the color green
2. the color turquoise or teal
3. the color pink
4. chevron or stripes
5. 3 photos
6. a sticker
7. stars
8. a solid paper
9. a number
10. a tag
11. mist or paint
12. glitter
13. a die cut
14. a square
15. a line from a song (use it in your journaling, as a title, as the sentiment on a card, as part of the design on your off the page project, etc. Show us how creative you can be!)

Link your finished project to the Take 5 Challenge album in the Paper Issues {Friends & Fans} Facebook group to be in the running for a gift certificate to the Paper Issues store.

I look forward to this challenge every month. I hope you do too! In case you're wondering, I used #1, #2, #3, #4 and #13 (and then some). :)

Pinspire Me with Paper Issues: So Sweet (Crate Paper Little You Girl)

I'm playing along with the April Pinspire Me Mood Board at Paper Issues. Here's a look at the inspiration piece. I'm loving all of the fresh, beautiful spring-themed images. My card was inspired by the adorable baby photo, the flowers and the colors in the bouquet.

Create something based on this piece and post it in the Pinspire Me album in the Paper Issues {Friends & Fans} Facebook group by May 1st for a chance to win a gift certificate to the Paper Issues store. If you share your project on Instagram, be sure to hashtag it with #paperissuespinspireme.
