Card Share: The Future is Bright (Dear Lizzy Documentary)

Graduation may be a long way off for some, but there are still graduations happening at the end of the year. I couldn't resist pairing "The Future is Bright" sticker and sunglasses die cut from Dear Lizzy Documentary to create this card. I also added in a wood and acrylic embellishment from Color Cast Designs and a piece of my favorite mini flair from Feed Your Craft.

Card Share: Dream Travel (Dear Lizzy Documentary)

I loved the globe sticker from the Dear Lizzy Documentary collection so much, I worked the rest of my card design around the sticker. I added in other elements from the collection, items from my stash and a piece of my favorite flair from Feed Your Craft. If you like smaller flair (7/8") and it's your favorite too, use the code LISA20 when you shop to save 20% off of your order.

Card Share: We've Got the Beat

I was asked to design a set of cards for our high school marching band. At the end of this month, they take the cards, along with bags of candy, to other marching bands in the area as a friendly gesture following their competitive season.

I combined an Echo Park music symbol cut file with text of my own design, using a red, black and white color scheme to keep the design clean and classic.

Just a heads up, I had to alter the original music cut file. The bass clef (the symbol on the left in the cut file) was upside down. I was able to rotate it to its proper position but had to delete the 16th note (the center note in the cut file) completely because it could not be ungrouped and adjusted to its proper position. Thankfully friends who are in the know about music caught the errors. Otherwise, I would have been really embarrassed. Oops!

Card Share: Little You (Dear Lizzy Documentary)

Baby's first birthday. Is there anything sweeter? Alexa was not impressed with her first taste of cake. She just stared at the cupcake we placed in front of her. It wasn't until after we gave her a taste of frosting, that her whole attitude changed and a sweet tooth was born. LOL! She didn't give a hoot about the cupcake itself, just the frosting. To this day (at the age of 14), she eats the frosting first, cupcake second.

Card Share: Trick or Treat (Crate Paper After Dark)

This is turning out to be Halloween card week on my blog. LOL! I guess it's good timing since Halloween is only 10 days away. Here's another look at Crate Paper After Dark mixed with items from my stash.

Card Share: #Spooky (Crate Paper After Dark)

Hi everyone! I'm back today with another Halloween card. This one's made with Crate Paper After Dark. The ephemera pack contains so many die cuts, making it easy to mix, match, and layer to create a quick and easy card.

I'm not sure what the 1/2 die cut has to do with Halloween so if someone knows, would you fill me in? I just liked the way it looked there. LOL!

Card Share: Happy Halloween

I pulled together some odds and ends to put together a quick Halloween card. I like the pairing of the "grunge" on the distressed paper with the fresh, clean polka dot transparency. I also used papers from a Paper Issues Swag Bag, an SRM sticker, a few small embellishments and called it done.

Warrior (Pink Paislee Memorandum)

Don't be shocked, but I made a layout (and boy did it feel good)!

This is the last of Alexa's dance photos from last season. I was waiting for Pink Paislee's Memorandum collection to be released because I thought the purples would go well with her costume. It also allowed me to bring in other colors. I had fun adding in items from my stash, including product packaging from Feed Your Craft flair. In this case, Alexa is feeding her passion for dance.

Card Share: Wonder (Crate Paper Wonder)

Crate Paper Wonder is the sweetest collection. I've used it to make birthday cards, dance layouts and now a baby card. Isn't the corrugated paper fabulous? I love it!

Fan-atics with Paper Issues: I'm Your Biggest Fan (Simple Stories Summer Vibes)

A new month-long linky party starts at Paper Issues today. This one is called Fan-atics and it's all about documenting what you're a fan of, whether it be a sports team or player, a TV show or actor, guilty pleasures, Halloween, a scrapbooking manufacturer, etc. I thought a bit out of the box for this one. The fan die cut, from Simple Stories Summer Vibes, was the starting point for my card.

Be sure to check out the Paper Issues blog for details on what you could link up. By linking up and linking back, you're playing along for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate to the Paper Issues store.

Come play along. It's a lot of fun!

Card Share: October Treats (Crate Paper After Dark)

Happy Saturday — Cut It Up Saturday to be exact! I don't usually blog over the weekend, but Danielle, my fellow Paper Issues design team member, designed a FREE spider web cut file (available in the Paper Issues store) and I wanted to play along. I only used one of the webs, but as a whole it makes for a really great background.

If you use the cut file, be sure to share your project in the Paper Issues {Friends & Fans} Facebook group so we can ooh and aah over it, plus it will give you a chance to win a $10 gift certificate to the Paper Issues store.

Pop on over to the Paper Issues blog today to see what some of the other Paper Issues' girls created with this file. There's some pretty awesome inspiration to be had!

Card Share: Star Student #2 (Echo Park Teacher's Pet)

Hi everyone! A couple of weeks ago I shared a card made with the free back to school cut file available in the Paper Issues store. Today I'm sharing a second card made with the same cut file.

If you create something with this cut file, be sure to share it in the Cut It Up Saturday September Challenge album in the Paper Issues {Friends & Fans} Facebook group for a chance to win a $10 gift certificate to the Paper Issues store. Don't worry if you don't have anything school-related to work on, a number of the designs work for other topics too.

I'll see you next week with new projects to share. Have a great weekend!

Card Share: Congratulations On Your New Home (Crate Paper Wonder)

The adorable neighborhood/house paper from Crate Paper's Wonder collection was perfect for making some "Congratulations On Your New Home" cards. I kept them very simple, using just 1-2 pieces of patterned paper and printing the sentiment on textured cardstock.

Which version is your favorite?

Card Share: Boo (Crate Paper After Dark)

Have you guys seen Crate Paper's After Dark collection? It has some really great papers and embellishments, perfect for Halloween layouts and cards. The big die cut "BOO" letters are from the ephemera pack. They're outlined in gold for a bit of shine. The skull key adds a little bit of spookiness, but otherwise it's pretty tame.

Card Share: Autumn Memories

What says "fall" to you? Is it hay rides? Apple picking? Changing leaves? All of the above? I wanted to capture the feel, colors and textures of fall on this card so I went with traditional fall colors paired with woodgrain, gingham and houndstooth papers. This card makes me feel like putting on a cozy sweater, sitting by the fire and enjoying a hot cup of tea (before heading out for a hay ride, of course). :)

Card Share: Tune In (Simple Stories So Rad)

Raise your hand if you remember boom boxes. Go ahead, don't be shy. I couldn't resist pairing this die cut from Simple Stories So Rad with the sentiment, "Tune In For a Great Birthday". I'm thinking this card would make a young boy really happy.
