You Rule the School with Paper Issues: Making a Difference (Echo Park Teacher's Pet)

A new linky party started at Paper Issues today. This one is called You Rule the School. Since school starts here in two days, I thought it would be fitting to share a teacher thank you card made with Echo Park's new Teacher's Pet collection.

Link your projects (new or old, as many as you'd like) AND link back to Paper Issues for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate to the Paper Issues store. If you have any questions about how to link up, I'd be happy to help. :)

Open Hands (Crate Paper Wonder)

Last week I shared a card made with Crate Paper Wonder and mentioned I was working on a dance layout using the same collection. Well, here it is! This is a photo of Alexa in her lyrical costume. Her team danced to a song called Open Hands by Ingrid Michaelson. Funny thing is, her solo costume is almost exactly the same, but in a smoky plum color. I still have to scrap that photo but have no clue what collection to use with smoky plum. Any suggestions? :)

Card Share: Precious Moments (Elle's Studio Cienna)

Elle's Studio Cienna is perfect for making baby cards. The mix of colors works equally well for girls or boys. This particular card is for a sweet baby girl named Olivia, who was welcomed into the world about a week and a half ago, so I focused on using pink and yellow with a touch of gray.

Card Share: Sad Sympathies (Kaisercraft Shine Bright)

As sad as it is to lose a furry family member, I didn't want to make a depressing pet sympathy card. To keep things cheerful and upbeat, I added cute cat embellishments, a whole bunch of bright yellow and a whimsical fish skeleton stick pin.

Card Share: Hello There Summer (Simple Stories Summer Vibes)

Summer is really whizzing by, isn't it? Only nine more days before Alexa heads off to HIGH SCHOOL! How did that happen?!?! I would prefer to bask in the more relaxed days of our summer schedule for just a wee bit longer. Maybe I should grab an ice cold glass of lemonade and sit outside in the sunshine for a bit...

Card Share: Meow 5 (Crate Paper Wonder)

I almost didn't get Crate Paper's Wonder collection. At first glance it seemed eclectic and young (especially with a teen in the house). After I saw the cute animals and other sweet embellishments (like the ephemera and cork numbers) in action, I changed my mind and I'm so glad I did. I've created a couple of cards and I recently finished a layout featuring one of Alexa's dance photos (will share soon). The collection is actually quite versatile and I am officially a fan. :)

If you'd like even more inspiration, head on over to see the Crate Paper Wonder feature on the Paper Issues blog today.

Card Share: He Said Awesome

I put this boy birthday card together with items from various Paper Issues Swag Bags and my stash, including a piece of my favorite mini flair from Feed Your Craft. The tag is from the Dollar Spot at Target. They came in a pack of eight and each one is a different color — perfect for cards and perfect for feeding my tag addiction. :)

Pocket-Book with Paper Issues: Standing in the Way of the Light

A new linky party started at Paper Issues today. This one's called Pocket-Book and it's about pockets of all kinds, like pocket pages, bitty bags, envelopes, etc. I created a journaling pocket on my layout using a 3 x 4" card, machine stitching it to the page for reinforcement. You can also link up projects having to do with books you've read, your favorite pocketbook, how you decorate your planner and so much more.

Play along with us — link your projects (as many as you'd like; new or old) and link back to Paper Issues for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate to the Paper Issues store.

Card Share: Summer Vibes (Simple Stories Summer Vibes)

Have you had a chance to check out Corri Garza's fun card sketch challenge going on in the Paper Issues {Friends & Fans} Facebook group? In fact, there are a bunch of challenges this month (and every month) with chances to win gift certificates to the Paper Issues store.

I created my card based on Corri's sketch using Simple Stories Summer Vibes. I can't seem to get enough of this collection! I've made a number of cards with it and plan to use it to scrap some summer photos as well.

Here's the sketch...If you create something based on it, please share your project on the challenge post by September 13th. On Instagram, be sure to tag @paperissues so we can leave you some love.

Card Share: Today is the Day (Chickaniddy 365)

I have almost used up the 6x6 paper pad from Chickaniddy Craft's 365 collection, purely by making cards. I don't think I've EVER used up an entire pad before. It's kind of exciting and I know only you guys would understand. LOL! Two sheets and a couple of small scraps to go and I can officially call it done. Next up are the 6x6 pads from Echo Park's Teacher's Pet and Crate Paper Wonder I have sitting on my craft table. Time to get to work...

Card Share: Happy Birthday to You (Chickaniddy 365)

I adore the Mason Jar Window Pockets Kit from Crate Paper's Poolside collection. The kit contains a fun assortment of chipboard mason jars with acetate pockets, die cuts, gold-threaded twine and a generous package of gold sequins. There are endless ways to combine the elements. For this card, I chose a mason jar that had the word "happy" printed on it (in gold!) and expanded it into a birthday sentiment by adding some alpha stickers.

Card Share: Adorable Baby Mine (Elle's Studio Cienna)

The Patchwork paper from Elle's Studio Cienna collection seemed like the perfect background for a baby card. I started with that as my base, adding in a 3x4" card, a die cut, and some stickers. Before I knew it, it was done (after adding a wee bit of machine stitching of course, because most projects don't feel finished unless I've sewn on them). :)

Card Share: Showered with Love (Elle's Studio Cienna)

Do you say "baby shower" or "baby sprinkle"? I had never heard the term "baby sprinkle" until recently. Maybe it's a regional thing.

This card was inspired by the umbrella die cut from Dear Lizzy's Fine & Dandy collection. I paired it with Elle's Studio Cienna and a few puffy heart "raindrops" from Studio Calico/7Paper. I think it turned out fun and fresh. With the touches of gold, it would even make a great bridal shower card.

It's All About the Face with Paper Issues: Queen Bee

Come play along with It's All About the Face, the new linky party at Paper Issues. Link new projects or old ones for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate to the Paper Issues store (and believe me, there are plenty of new goodies you could spend it on).

This is one of the pages I plan on linking up since dance competitions are all about putting on the face in terms of both applying make up and using expression while you perform. What will you share? There's a list of suggested link up ideas right on the Paper Issues blog.
