Card Share: Winter Snow

I was inspired to make this card based on the latest Pinspire Me Monday inspiration piece at Paper Issues:

In this case, I was drawn to the snowflakes. I used this Silhouette print and cut file to create the card.

Create something based on this piece and post it to the Pinspire Monday thread in the Paper Issues {Friends & Fans} Facebook group by February 8th for a chance to win one of two prizes. You can even share on Instagram using the hashtag #paperissuespinspireme.

If you haven't joined the Paper Issues {Friends & Fans} group yet, click on the link above, then click "add". You'll not only find a fun group of women, all with paper issues just like us, but you'll get advance notice of sales, product arrivals and so much more! There's always something happening. It's all fun and games when it comes to crafting!

Card Share: Status Update

I have a fun, bright, happy card to share with you today. I mean, how cute is that Doodlebug Doodlepop owl flying by to say hello to a special someone?

I created this card with 3x4 papers from various Paper Issues Swag Bags, adding in little bits from my stash and a piece of mini flair from my friend Elise's (lilgik) Etsy shop, Feed Your Craft. She has some great stuff. I highly recommend that you stop by and take a look around when you have a minute. She is wonderful to work with and is happy to take custom orders.

Card Share: You Make Me Happy

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

This card makes me happy. I love the fresh, spring colors, the bit of sparkle from the sequins, the texture from the wood veneer flowers and the pop of black from the sentiment sticker.

Most of the elements on here came from various Paper Issues Swag Bags. These kits are great for card making and all sorts of other projects, like pocket scrapping and layouts.

I so look forward to its arrival each month! I pull the pretty glassine bag out of the package, gently peel back the washi tape seal and sift through the little bits and pieces over and over. If you love embellishments and trying new products as much as I do, think about trying the kit. You can sign up for a one-time delivery, a monthly subscription or even the new 6-month subscription (it's a great gift idea, by the way). Use the code LISA20 and you'll get 20% off (applies to anything you order, any time).

A Summer Snooze (Echo Park Through the Year)

There's nothing like a summer snooze, especially when you're a cat. I don't know what I would enjoy more right now — summer or a good, refreshing nap. If I chose the latter though, I wouldn't be able to tell you about my layout. LOL!

I put this together with Echo Park's Through the Year collection with a focus on the element stickers. I had fun using the round days of the week stickers around the page, adding foam adhesive to some of them to add dimension.

The title was cut on my Silhouette using the fonts Arial Black ("a summer") and Grand Hotel ("snooze"). I like the look of the two fonts together. They both have a roundness to them yet one is clean and sans serif and the other is cursive. Arial Black is a Mac and Windows system font. You'll find Grand Hotel right here.

Now if you'll excuse me, I think it's time for that nap I mentioned earlier. :)

You Are Some Kind of Wonderful (Webster's Pages Hall Pass)

I've found a new favorite collection — Webster's Pages Hall Pass. I picked it up from the Paper Issues store and couldn't wait to get to work. In fact, after I made this layout, I made a card and another layout (both to be shared soon).

Although Hall Pass is technically a school-themed collection, as you can see it doesn't have to be used only with school-related photos. In fact, this picture is from Mother's Day. It's such a pretty collection full of florals, plaid, bokeh and distressed woods.

I highly recommend you ask your teacher for a Hall Pass so you can check it out. LOL! If you shop through the Paper Issues store, you can use the code LISA20 to get 20% off of your entire order, plus all U.S. orders $60+ ship for free.

A new linky party started at Paper Issues today called Say it Ain't Snow Cold Outside. If you link your projects and link back to Paper Issues you have a chance to win a $20 gift certificate to the Paper Issues store. There are a bunch of different ways to interpret this theme, so be sure to check the blog post for ideas.

I'm off to link up a couple of projects. Even though I'm not eligible for the prize, it's still fun to play along. :)

Card Share: Life is Better...

Hi everyone! Today I have another card to share with you, created with 3x4 cards and other elements from the Paper Issues December Swag Bag. I loved the Jillibean Soup quote card so much, I ordered two packs (different themes). One thing I love about Swag Bags is you can try a little bit of this and a little bit of that. If you end up loving something, you can order more (and you can order it for 20% off if you use the code LISA20).

Thank you for visiting this week. I'll be back next week with new projects to share. Enjoy the rest of your week!

Card Share: Thank My Lucky Stars

This card may leave you seeing stars, and a lot of them! With all of the celestial elements, how could I not use the sentiment, "Thank My Lucky Stars"?

Most of the products on here came from various Paper Issues Swag Bags with bits added in from my stash. In fact, the tag was created for a different project that didn't work out so I'm happy it found a home on here. Swag Bags contain a number of 3x4 papers and they're perfect for card making, layering, using with punches, pocket scrapping and so much more!

I have another card to share tomorrow, also featuring 3x4 papers. The possibilities really are endless...

A Pawsitively Cozy Christmas (Simple Stories DIY and Cozy Christmas)

The background paper on this page is from Fancy Pants Vintage Valentine (circa 2010), one of the oldest papers in my stash. I've had two sheets on hand (all I had left of the collection), thinking they'd work well with a Christmas page at some point. Well, today is the day!

The remainder of the page is made up of Simple Stories DIY and Cozy Christmas with some Bella Blvd. flags and a piece of flair from A Flair for Buttons added in for good measure. You know how much I love my embellishments, especially mixing and matching them, right?

I have one more 2014 holiday photo to scrap before I put my collections away for another year. How about you?

All is Bright 2014 (Echo Park Home for the Holidays)

I created this layout using the current sketch from the Sketchy Saturday linky party at Paper Issues. If you use it too, and link up by January 16th, you could win a $10 gift certificate to the Paper Issues store. To make it even easier, there's a FREE cut file to go along with the sketch (to cut the circular background). You'll find it right here.

The sketch was so inspiring, it helped me scrap this photo that had been sitting on my craft table for two weeks (and having the free cut file didn't hurt one bit either). :)

Card Share: December (Echo Park Through the Year)

Yes, I know it's after Christmas, but I didn't get a chance to share this card with you earlier. Maybe it will inspire you to get a head start on next year's cards. :)

I created this card with Echo Park's Through the Year collection and coordinating stamps. I even put together a photo tutorial and step-by-step instructions so you can see how it came together.

1. Cut the 4x6" pennant journaling card from the January to April paper. Position the journaling card so the pennants are at the top.

2. Adhere the "Happy Holidays" banner, "Date", "December" and tree stickers from the Element Stickers sheet to the card as shown, only lightly tacking down the tree sticker for now.

3. Trim a 1 1/2" wide x 2 1/2" high piece from the "B" side (blue solid) of the February paper, cutting the top two corners at an angle to create a tag shape.

4. Use the star stamp from the Calendar Designer Stamps set and Versamark ink to stamp a random star pattern on the tag. Lightly ink the edges of the tag with red ink.

5. Tuck the finished tag under the tree sticker. Adhere the tree sticker completely.

6. Use foam adhesive to adhere the "Let's Celebrate Today" sticker from the Alpha Stickers sheet, over the left side of the tree sticker, as shown.

7. Add the numbers 2 and 5 from the Alpha Stickers sheet to the bottom left edge of the tag.

8. Use the "December" stamp from the Calendar Designer Stamps set and olive green ink to stamp the word "December" above the "December" word sticker.

9. Punch two 3/8" circles from the 4x6 "April" journaling card on the January to April paper (you'll end up with one aqua polka dot circle and one yellow polka dot circle from the "B" side) and one striped 3/8" circle from the 4x6 "December" journaling card on the September to December paper.

10. Use navy ink to stamp the number 25, from the Calendar Designer Stamps set, onto the yellow polka dot circle, pink ink to stamp the number onto the aqua polka dot circle and olive ink to stamp the number onto the red striped circle.

11. Use foam adhesive to adhere the stamped circles to the pennant journaling card, as shown.

12. Cut a 4 1/8" wide x 6 1/8" high piece from the "B" side (pink solid) of the April paper. Mat the pennant journaling card onto the pink paper.

13. Glue three wood veneer stars to the journaling card, as shown.

14. Add a red photo turn and white brad to the left side of the tag.

15. Cut a piece of white cardstock to 4" wide x 12" long. Fold this piece in half, top to bottom. Adhere this card base to the back of the pink paper.

My 14 Favorite Layouts of 2014

I don't know about you, but I can't believe it's a new year! Before we get too far into 2015, I thought I'd take a look back at my 14 favorite layouts of 2014.

1. I Am the Captain of the Lidemoki, a page for my Dad's memorial album and because it brings back so many fond memories.

2. On Top of it All, because I so infrequently scrapbook multiple photos.

3. A Starbucks Sip, because I love the fresh colors and all of the ampersands.

4. Seize the Day, because it features my favorite classic color scheme.

5. Let's Talk Turkey on the Shelf, because it documents our yearly Thanksgiving tradition.

6. Acting the Part, because it documents Alexa's (mostly homemade) Halloween costume and her obsession with The Mortal Instruments book series.

7. Locker Exhibition, because it captures Alexa's school life and how much effort she puts into decorating her middle school locker.

8. One for Each Night, because I managed to scrapbook a Hanukkah photo I've been holding on to for some time, using an office-themed collection.

9. #Selfie because it's colorful, like Alexa's personality.

10. He's Meow 5, because I can't leave out the fur baby of the family.

11. You are My Heart, because of the cozy, homespun elements.

12. Almost a Teen, because it's colorful and was made just for fun (vs. a design team assignment).

13. Apples Have So Much Ap-peel, because who doesn't love the fall?

14. Away Whee Go, a page made just for fun, using scraps from one of my favorite Crate Paper collections ever (and away we go into a new year).

Thank you all for coming along on this journey with me and for taking the time to visit my blog this past year. Wishing you all a happy and healthy new year!
