Rukin Brothers (Bo Bunny Timepiece)

I seem to be on a bit of a vintage kick lately. Every time I go through my stash of old photos, something speaks to me and I feel the need to get it scrapped. This is a photo of my Dad (the older one) and his brother in 1948. I wish I knew why they were all dressed up. Although I knew my Dad liked hats as an adult, I didn't know he wore them as a kid. I guess it started early. I used all Bo Bunny Timepiece on here, with bits and pieces of newer product, like Little Yellow Bicycle's Naturals word clothespins and Studio Calico's wood veneer potty people.

  7. Gorgeous page!!! Love all the yumminess. Little boys wore hats back then it was part of the fashion statement and as for dressing up (as well as men) - and it could be for anything. Dressing up for events/everyday things like that could've been a school function, sunday, holiday.

Your photo is wonderful...those hats are so jaunty and they look so handsome! Perhaps it is Easter or tThanksgiving and they are off to visit the other relatives? Or perhaps someones birthday!

  19. Wonderful work, Lisa. What a treasure to have these photos of your Dad but it must be a little frustrating to not know more. The theme of the time pieces works so well here. Love all your little touches like the mini clothespins.
