Believe? (Little Yellow Bicycle Once Upon a Christmas)

The 5 Things Pocket Page from Little Yellow Bicycle's Once Upon a Christmas collection made this page a snap to put together. Having pre-stitched pockets at the bottom of the page was an added bonus (because you all know how much I love the look of stitching on my pages). :)

This was the year Alexa questioned the existence of Santa (honestly, it was kind of a relief). She presented a handwritten index card to me at bedtime on Christmas Eve that said:

Dear Mom & Dad,

I hate to say this but I think you know very well that I'm a little bit too old to believe that a man can go around the world in 1 night w/8 magic reindeer pulling a sleigh. But at the same time it's not so fun growing up and not (almost) not wanting to believe! I'm confused! HELP!

Love, Alexa

Kind of heart breaking but so sweet (OK, bittersweet) at the same time, isn't it?

  4. I love everything about this page: the adorable note, the great design, the way you used the 5 pockets in an unconventional way, that sweet photo. Sigh. The whole theme and execution. Love it all. A+ page.

  7. Aw, that is such a bittersweet memory to capture. I had an older brother so when he knew, I knew. It's good that she was able to keep the magic alive as long as she did. :) Fabulous page. I love the pocket embellishments!

  9. Such a great layout! Love the pockets. Aw, I bet it was bittersweet. When my little brother asked - my mother told him that Santa is real in the way that he brings Christmas spirit to everyone around the world but one man cannot do a job like he can so the parents always help....

  16. Fabulous layout!! Love your design (you say this sheet of paper was easy to use, but I found it the hardest to use :) ) and your text is really touching. I have the same issues here with my 8yr old son (he decided that he still believes, LOL).
