This is not another Disney layout, although the photo was taken outside of a t-shirt shop at Downtown Disney. :) It seemed fitting to go along with journaling (in the pocket) about the fun relationship Tom and Alexa have and the things they do together. I think the title is pretty clever. You Suit Me to a TEE! Sometimes I crack myself up (and it's okay if you don't join along with me, LOL!) Have a great day!

Not being one to wait, I broke into Simple Stories Harvest Lane collection almost as soon as it arrived at my door. Not having any fall photos did nothing to deter me. You know why? This collection is perfect for non-seasonal photos too. This photo is actually from Father's Day. There are many sentiments and embellishments that have nothing to do with fall. So if you love rich, fall-like colors but don't need yet another fall collection, don't rule this one out. It has plenty of family-themed elements to make it worth the purchase. :)
Disclaimer: I am not being paid or compensated for this post. I am just a Simple Stories groupie (LOL!) looking to share some new stuff. :)

For my birthday, Tom and Alexa surprised me with a trip to Alexandria Bay in the Thousand Islands (NY). One of the things we did was take a boat cruise to Millionaire's Row where there are amazing houses, each on their own island. One of the islands, Heart Island, is home to Boldt Castle. The story behind it is so sad. George Boldt, a self-born millionaire and hotel magnate (the Waldorf-Astoria among them), built this castle for his wife, Louise. He loved her so much that he designed it to have hearts everywhere (in the metal work, in the cement, in the stained glass, etc.) Unfortunately she died during the building of the castle so Boldt halted construction and never returned. The castle fell into disrepair and fell prey to vandals. It wasn't until 1977 that restoration projects started taking place. It was a beautiful place to visit, but I sure wouldn't want to have to keep up with a house and property of this proportion. LOL!

Alexa encountered a situation at camp last week and I am so proud of the way she handled it. Long story short, she helped a fellow camper out after another girl intentionally knocked over a soda. Alexa helped clean up the spill and asked Tom to spot her the money so she could buy a replacement soda for her friend the next day.

Ready for one last Disney page? I promise to move on to some other topics this week. :) Downtown Disney was a fun break from our time at the parks. We enjoyed the leisurely shopping, the food, and checking out all of the mouse ear-shaped treats at the candy store. Who knew there were so many things that could be made in that shape? LOL!

I'm starting to scrap the park pics from our June Disney trip, starting out with a photo from Epcot (taken by a Photo Pass photographer). I had a lot of fun using the chipboard pieces from Little Yellow Bicycle's Escape collection on here to create a little ensemble in the bottom left using the suitcases and passport. I also took the fabric banner apart (it said "are we there yet?" and used three of the pieces to spell out "we are there" at the top of the photo. This was the first time I used one of the 5 Things pockets on a page and I will definitely be using more. They are the perfect place to store journaling, memorabilia, etc. I lined the inside of the pocket with patterned paper, tucked in a journaling card and then attached a banner flag to Alexa's park pass and tucked that in there too.
Have a great weekend! I'll be back on Monday with more to share. :)

I'm switching gears today from friendship cards and moving on to December and Christmas today. This card uses some of the more traditional colors found in Echo Park's Holly Jolly Christmas collection from last year and I added in a trio of KI Memories Puffies (remember those?) to finish it off.

Today I'm back with another friendship card using the same color scheme as the card I posted yesterday. This is based on a sketch by Cyndi Bundy. Have a great day!

Time for another card share, this time a friendship card. The color palette was based on a style challenge from CARDS magazine. Just my usual layering with some bits and pieces. :)

Alexa independently planned and packed a picnic for us last month. She came up with the menu and even made trail mix and lemonade to go along with egg salad sandwiches and watermelon (which HAD to be cut into wedges, not cut off the rind). :)
I think I may have gone overboard (OK, I did) with the embellishments on this one. I kept feeling as if there was "just one more empty space" that needed to be filled. LOL! It's not my favorite layout, but the colors and photos and the memory of the day definitely make me happy.

Alexa had a number of accomplishments and received a number of awards in June and I wanted to document them. For now let's pretend there is a pretty green tag tucked under the right side of the photo that has the journaling on it, OK? Let's forget that my printer has decided to call it quits so I can't print said journaling out. :)

Yesterday I shared a Christmas card featuring a cute kitty and today we move from December on to February and a card for Valentine's Day featuring a sweet owl and a silly sentiment. There's mostly Jillibean Soup products on here with a bit of Echo Park and Heidi Grace thrown in for good measure. :)

I created this sweet card for CARDS magazine style challenge for the upcoming December issue. It didn't get picked up but that's OK. It gives me something to share with you today and a card that's perfect to give to Alexa. :) If you make holiday cards, when do you get started?

Alexa's jazz costume is in complete contrast to her tap outfit, wouldn't you say? LOL! This is a very simple, super sparkly and understated dress. It is covered with a bazillion round sequin-like disks that are probably glued on vs. being sewn on. How do I know? I found many of them around my house and I'm thinking there were probably plenty left on the stage after the girls danced too. For this number, the girls danced to "Naturally" by Selena Gomez, hence the title.

I don't know if you remember, but I posted this page on my blog back in May, but what you don't know (well, you do now, LOL) is that I submitted it to Simple Stories Basics challenge. I just found out last night that I was chosen as the winner. I'll be receiving a $50 prize pack of Simple Stories goodies. I'm thinking that will keep me happy, and busy, for a while. :)

Today I'm sharing a page that appears in the August issue of Scrap n' Art magazine. This is Alexa with her cousin, Sydnie in 2010. Aren't they cute together? I know, I'm prejudiced. LOL!

Today I'm sharing a page that appears in the August issue of Scrapstreet magazine. It's one of my favorite photos from our trip to Myrtle Beach last year. The idea for the title came from Alexa's venture into the sea to wash the sand off of some shells...The journaling will tell you all about it. :)
You “seas-ed” the day all right. We went down to the beach to take an evening walk and to collect shells. You waded into the water a bit to wash the sand off of some shells. Before we knew it, a wave had knocked you down. What’s a fully-clothed girl to do? Why, jump right in and have some fun, of course! Your white shorts filled up with so much sand, it looked like you had had an accident in your pants! We were able to shake out some of the wet sand, but had to wait for your clothes to dry before we got rid of the rest.
