  3. Lisa ... how generous. I have so many fun traditions and adding more each year. I guess one of my favs is the PJ night. My mom and dad gave each of us Christmas pjs the night before Christmas. I did this for my kids ... (still do for the youngest.) Now my kids give Christmas pj to their children. Cool!

  4. What a great giveaway! Thank you Lisa! My favorite holiday tradition is that my husband, kids and I go out for dinner on Christmas Eve. We cash in our change from the year as our server's tip. We have done this year the past few years and last year's was the biggest we've given - $125. We can't wait to cash it in for this year.... Merry Christmas to you and yours!

  5. Happy Holidays!! Wanted to drop in and tell you to have a wonderful holiday!! :) Oh, and my fave tradition is making cookies with Nate. I used to make them with my mom and now I make them with him. Now mom and I share phone pics of our cookies — still a great way to share from far away.

  6. my fave tradition, besides getting the santa picture, is the decorating of the tree. in our house the girls hang the ornaments and the only rule is that they can not stand on anything. things only go as high as they can reach. it's been so much fun to watch (and document) the progression over the years!

  8. OOOO cool awesome. My favorite tradition was when I was a kid that my parents didn't decorate anything until we were in bed on Christimas eve. It was fun waking up to a completely awesome winter wonderland (as mentioned on my blog).

  9. Merry Christmas! My favorite tradition is "reserving" Christmas Eve for my husband and I to celebrate Christmas with our boys before the day of visiting. Hot chocolate, a cozy fire and just loving each other in a relaxed environment.

  13. I have lots of traditions that I love that we don't do every year, but I've tried really hard the last few years to make sure and read Twas the Night Before Christmas on Christmas Eve to my kids. Love it! This year I found the book A Creature Was Stirring by Carter Goodrich, totally cute tale of a little boy awake when Santa arrives, and I want to read it too. So fun!
    Thanks for all the inspiration!

  16. My favorite tradition is that we still all hang up our stockings and they get filled!!! It is so fun to watch the kids. LOVE that collection too!

  17. My favouite holiday tradition is the stockings. I wrap all the gifts in the stockings and we go a little overboard. Everyone buys several stocking for each other so we have had to switch to large sized plastic coated gift bags instead of stockings.
I often chose a theme very early in the year,...like one year it was cake decorating for my married daughter. What fun I had watching for the perfect items all year. One year it was BBQing for my SIL. He got homemade potato spices from a craft fair, lots of wood chips, special grilling baskets, etc.
For little Miss C this year, it is card making. She is getting a ton of pens and blenders, new tips, stamps, etc.

My favourite is my married sister's stocking...yes, we even exchange stocking gifts with all the family. She was an Olympic team 3 day event rider so I get her equestrian themed ornaments for her tree. I have done a blog post on her Xmas decorations earlier this year.

  19. Every year I take my son to Hallmark so that he can pick out a Christmas ornament. I love to see what he chooses, because it really reflects what he is in to at a certain age. I have him tell me why he picked that ornament, I write it on a tag and tuck it in the ornament's box and as we unpack them the following year we read through them all. It is so fun!! Thanks for the chance!! xo Evie

  20. Not sure if you would consider this a tradition. But my husband and I enjoy sitting in front of the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve. We turn off all the lights and just enjoy the magical, soothing sight of the Christmas tree.
    Great festive papers.

  22. My Favorite Christmas Tradition would have to be from when I was a kid(entire time I was in school) we'd go to Florida(driving, camping in a van,NO HOTELS,no fast food!)Shimmying up Orange Trees (poor orchard owner) to bring oranges home, fishing and collecting seashells. All presents were opened before the trip left behind and the trip enjoyed. I remember all of that way more than anything I ever did get.
