Lakeside at Lidemoki (Simple Stories Summer Fresh)
I'm feeling a bit nostalgic lately. I've been sorting through "older" photos and getting them, and the memories behind them, onto scrapbook pages. My parents bought a lake house in NH when I was an early teen. My Dad affectionately named it Lidemoki Lodge (Lidemoki stands for the first two letters in each of his girls' names). He later built a tree house on the property for his grandchildren and named it using the first two letters of their names as well. With my Dad's passing a year and a half ago, we had a tough decision to make — could our four families afford to buy the house and keep it in the family for the next generation? Unfortunately the answer was no. We spent a lot of time there and the memories we made during that time will make us smile as we look back, take them out, dust them off, and share them with our children.

Lisa, this is such a sweet photo of you and your family with your Dad. What a wonderful memory to preserve. Every layout you do about your Dad is so sweet. Makes me love him without even knowing him! You did a great job with this collection. The bingo cards are such a happy embellishment and perfect here. Love how you used the arrows, too.

ReplyDeleteLove the layout and the memories behind it!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat page, sweet story & love all the bingo cards across the top Tx
ReplyDeleteThis is a great layout. I have very few current photos. I didn't start scraping until way late (one in HS and one just leaving for college). Plus, alot of my photos are from film, so one-off shots and few of each event (and always events, never normal days).
ReplyDeleteWonderful layout! I need to start a series of layouts about my Dad but need to leave it a bit longer as it is all a bit too raw right now.
ReplyDeleteThis layout is great cuz it has the references to those special things from that era. My family were not inot board games...maybe checkers if you were lucky. We had a log house on a river and tried to go as often as possible. We played more card games, checkers, etc there than anyone else.
Bittersweet page for sure, but a wonderful memory to treasure! Love the bingo cards and the pocket for your journaling.
