This is our sweet tabby, Butterscotch. Technically he's Alexa's cat because she is 100% responsible for his care. Although this page came together pretty easily, I have to admit that I really struggle with landscape-oriented photos. I probably scrap only a handful of them a year. I find it hard to "fill" the space when a photo is 6"x 4". I don't know why. How about you...Do you scrap mostly portrait- or landscape-oriented photos? Do you have any tips on how to approach a landscape photo? I'd appreciate any ideas you're willing to share. Thank you!

ReplyDeleteHmmmmm... come to think of it ... I have that problem too!!! Weird!! I love love love your lo!!! LOVING that 'spoiled rotten' tag and the paw print!!!
ReplyDeleteCute kitty! What's the background paper? I really like it.
ReplyDeleteooooo Very fun!! I love the layering.
ReplyDeleteI think you did a great job with this 6x4. The banner strips and the cluster hournaling make it so special.
ReplyDeleteDo you mind if I pin this?
Super cute layout! Love the paw print beneath the photo!
ReplyDeleteI think you did a great job with it. The layers of embellishments filled the page in nicely.
ReplyDeletesuper cute!!! love all the cute things you added!!!
ReplyDeleteI wimp out and crop all my pictures, so I am no help. It is perfect the way you did it.
ReplyDeleteFabulous layout!! I think you did great scrapping it!! :)
ReplyDeleteFirst off - great page! Love the "warning: spoiled" sticker :)
ReplyDeleteAnd really liking the book/newsprint backgrounds.
I think I scrap both landscape and portrait equally. Right now I am doing a layout with a landscape type photo. I just do a lot of matting and layering underneath. Those types of photos I usually have a lot of white space on the page.
I was thinking that this page looks different from your usual--must be the landscape-oriented photo. As for me, I tend to use more landscape photos than portrait, but I like both. By layering the long banners beneath the photo, you sort of gave it a portrait "feel," even though it's a landscape photo.
ReplyDeleteFun papers and other supplies for your kitty cat.
ReplyDeleteSo cute!!
ReplyDeleteI never thought about the photo-orientation..can't give any advice. But the layout and the cat are amazing!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful layout. Love all the journaling cards grouped together. I especially love the "i <3 cats" banner.
ReplyDeleteLove this layout. I like the three banners that you built off of
ReplyDeleteI love cats too, great layout, love the banner :)
ReplyDeleteI am loving the centered and large banners!
ReplyDeleteWell if you had trouble with this layout, you'd never know it! It's just as beautiful as all the rest. I love the photo, the paw print and all the layering.
ReplyDeleteDo you ever scrap BOTH a horizontal and a vertical on the same layout?? That's what I'm working on and it's very difficult for me. Thanks!
Hi Lisa! It's been a loooong time since I've tried that combo. Landscape photos stress me out enough. I'm not sure what a horizontal and vertical would do to me. LOL!
DeleteSuper cute and you filled the space perfectly! We had an orange tabby, Pumpkin, growing up and your page reminded me of him.
ReplyDeleteI tend to scrap more horizontal photos, but that's just because I tend to take more horizontal photos. I do find vertical photos easier to scrap, though, for the reason you mentioned!
