Ten Plus One (Echo Park Sweet Day)

I love this shot of Alexa blowing out the candles on her birthday cookie cake. Because it was taken at night and there wasn't much light, the photo came out kind of dark. Since it was all I had to work with, I thought I'd make the best of it. Enter some PhotoShop actions, vintage ones to be exact. Now I really love the photo and the soft look of it and how it complements the papers so nicely.

What do you do if an important photo doesn't come out as you expected? Do you trash it? Do you tweak it? Do you turn it to black and white? Do you do something else? I'd love to hear some ideas. :)

  3. Lisa, those papers are perfect! And the photo turned out great! I have scrapped blurry or imperfect photos. But have also turned quite a few to black and white.

  10. Very nice! I love the outcome. When a photo doesn't turn out the way I want it to, I will amend it, create and effect on it, turn it to b/w, crop it... or whatever. So many options today, to maneuver around a picture that isn't quite what you wanted.

  15. Beautiful layout Lisa! I don't think the photo is bad at all! I love the bright red background and the layering is perfect as usual, and so is that sewed border! Love Penny P.s. I scrap the bad photo's anyway, I have learned the hard way you can never have enough photos of the people in your life that you love!
