Summer Shore Is Fun (Echo Park Hello Summer)

I have to admit that I really struggled with this page and I don't know why. Maybe it's a bit too cute (for me) maybe I went a wee bit crazy with embellishments. LOL! It's certainly not the colors because I think they are really fun! Usually when I don't like a page it has to do with color in some way. Oh well...

Anyway, these are pics of me around the age of seven spending time at the lake in NH (at least my best guess is this is where they were taken). What do you do when you scrap photos but don't know the specifics about when, where and who and you don't have anyone to ask?

  2. Did you have problems?! Doesn't look it at all!! LOVE how it turned out :) Not sure how to answer your question...mention in your journaling that you don't know but put down in your best recollection/guess.

  3. oooo love the design and title - i may have to lift that. and the fun colors, i'm not sure whats not to like lol! if you know nothing about the pic - write about what you do know, remember, maybe a favorite bathing suit or other times you went to the beach. I had that same problem - it was a mother's day photo/page - I knew who, but not where - looked like a picnic in winter clothes. So I wrote about what I remembered to be my favorite outfit - which I had on in the picture.

  4. Really love that line and it is perfect for your page!
And the photo block with borders!

I guess I don't scrap those photos too often. But when I do, I usually end up telling a story or sharing a memory. I had a photo booth photo of me and my dad from 1973, that I turned into a story about my favorite memories with my dad during my childhood :)

  7. I love your cute page and your title is awesome! You have so many great details here, like the stitching on the umbrella. Hmmm, as for your question, I've never tried to scrap anything that I didn't know the details of or didn't have someone to ask. Of course, 95 percent of what I scrap is my little boy and I took the photos.....But, yeah, it is frustrating to not know the details of pics from your childhood or of your parents. I think I've only scrapped a childhood pic of me once and I was old enough to remember the event, and mom was around for me to help me complete the story. At least our kids aren't too likely to be in this boat. I do need to journal more on my pages though, I think, to tell more of the story. Wonderful work, Lisa. I did do a double take though when I read the date and it looked like 1910, ha ha ha. I know you're not THAT old!
