Smoothie Saturday

Yogurt shakes have been a staple in our house since Alexa was a toddler. She now requests them for an after school snack, although "in the day" we used to make them to enjoy on Sunday mornings when we were all together. Anyway, I made one yesterday and Alexa proclaimed it the best one I've ever made. I'm not sure why because I used the same ingredients I always use. :) She thought it would be fun if I started a Saturday blog series called, "Smoothie Saturday" (she even took the photo above to help her argument for it).. I'm not sure it will be a regular post, but I thought I'd post my recipe because it would make a nice addition to a Mother's Day breakfast or brunch. So here you go:

Place all of the following ingredients in a blender and blend on the highest speed until smooth:

6 oz. vanilla yogurt
1 frozen banana, broken into chunks
12 frozen strawberries
1/2 c. fresh pineapple chunks
1/2 c. juice (can be any kind but I usually use something with cranberry in it)
about 2 c. seltzer/carbonated water (I use a flavored seltzer like raspberry lime or cranberry lime)

Enjoy!

  8. Oh, I haven't made a smoothie in a long time. This looks and sounds yummy. I'm trying to think real quick if I have all the ingredients in the house, and, yup, I think I do! :) I love the way Alexa wants input in your blog!! She's so cute about that.
